TYPES OF VISITATIONS or 203-795-0835

Happy Autumn to Everyone! I would like to take a moment to thank all of you for your ongoing support of our facility and staff as we continue to navigate these uncharted COVID waters. And also to take this time to remind you that our #1 goal in any policy and procedure that we institute is solely for the SAFETY AND PROTECTION of your loved ones during their stay in our facility. You have entrusted the care and safety of your family to us, and although there are no guarantees, together we can attempt to continue to mitigate the effects of this virus on our most vulnerable population.

As I write this memo there are 65 Nursing Facilities in the State in COVID Outbreak. There have been many BREAKTHROUGH Cases among vaccinated residents. As soon as the Booster dose is available for Nursing Facilities will be distributing it to our residents as advised by DPH and the CDC. Our goal is to not be in this statistic. With your cooperation we will continue to remain ORANGE STRONG.

Below, starting with the safest forms, are all our available modes of visitation. Please note: if your loved one is on Observation Status the modes of visitation available to you are #1 and #2 until they are moved into the general population. All forms are available to our general population.

#1) Window Visits
Window visits can be done any time, any day. If you have any special requests during your visit, please call the facility and, if we can, we would be happy to accommodate you.

#2) Virtual Visits
Facetime or Virtual visits are done over our Ipads and with your phone or computer at home and are available to you 7 days a week. These can be set up in advance by emailing us the day and time you would like to have the Virtual Visit at or by calling the facility at 203-795-0835. Setting it up in advance, although not required, will assure that you can get the day and time you want as we unfortunately don't have enough Ipads for every resident. They can be done via Skype or Facetime. If your loved one has an Iphone of their own we would be happy to assist them with an Facetime call at any time.

#3 Patio/Outdoor Visitation
As the Summer wanes and the colder weather approaches you will see us getting our heated Dome and Tent ready for visitation again. These made for wonderful adventure-like settings for safer visitation in the cooler months.
The patio and all the tables and chairs are also still available to you at this time.

#4 Indoor Visitation
Although the least safe for you and your loved one, indoor visitation remains available. CMS and CDC regulations dictate that roommates should not be present during visitation and that we must monitor the number of visitors in the facility at any given time to properly maintain the safety and well-being of our residents as we monitor the:

CORE PRINCIPLES of Infection Control:
• Screening of all who enter the facility for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 (e.g., temperature checks, questions about and observations of signs or symptoms), and denial of entry of those with signs or symptoms or those who have had close contact with someone with COVID-19 infection in the prior 14 days (regardless of the visitor's vaccination status)

• Hand hygiene (use of alcohol-based hand rub is preferred)

• Face covering or mask (covering mouth and nose)

* Social distancing at least six feet between persons

• Instructional signage throughout the facility and proper visitor education on COVID19 signs and symptoms, infection control precautions, other applicable facility practices (e.g., use of face covering or mask, specified entries, exits and routes to designated areas, hand hygiene)

• Cleaning and disinfecting high-frequency touched surfaces in the facility often, and designated visitation areas after each visit

To safely monitor these practices and to ensure we have the proper setting available for your visit, we kindly request that you schedule your visit 24 hours in advance for weekday visits and 48 hours in advance for weekend visits. As always, we will try and accommodate your needs. You can do this by using our email address Mon-Fri and we will send you a confirmation email or by calling us at 203-795-0835 (7) days a week.

Our goal is to ensure you have a safe and quality visit with your loved one!!
